Clothing & Accessories > Consignment Info
All of our clothing at Wolseley Wardrobe is sold on consignment. If you’re interested in opening an account please call the shop for an appointment – we do not take walk-ins. See below for information on our consignment program.
What To Bring
- Children, Men & Women’s Clothing, Shoes & Accessories. Accessories include jewellery, belts, scarves, hats, mitts/gloves and purses.
- Although we also take toys and children’s book, sports-gear, kitchen items, home decorating and linens we don’t have much space and only keep items that are in great shape.
How To Bring It In
- Please call before you drop off items. This way we can let you know if we have room and also what items are specifically needed.
- Please pack in a bag or box or on hangers that you don’t need returned. If possible, bring non-clothing items in a labelled, separate bag.
- Unless your items are exceptional please limit your items to one bag or box per drop off. *Exceptional items are excellent quality, in perfect condition, no stains, tears, may be vintage but not dated, interesting stuff from other countries, looks like new or may be new and is clean, pressed and ready to go out. If your stuff is exceptional, that is different only because it requires very limited sorting and we can put it on a new arrival rack and it sells very quickly.
- Separate out the mediocre stuff for donation
- You are responsible to put your account # on the bag/box or make sure that we do it before you leave.
How We Deal with Your Items
- Items are put out on a first in-first out basis, to the best of our ability. We go through items and automatically donate those that we decide will not sell in the shop. Some reasons for immediate donation are stains, tears, ragged seams, unwashed smell, dated or generally too many of that item in the store.
- Items are kept for a minimum of three months
- We have a clearance every 3 months for all consignment items in the store.
- After 3 months your items may be moved to a $2 rack for one week before being donated.
- Items will not be returned to you.
- Once items are removed they are bagged for donation to various organizations in Manitoba that give them directly to people in need. Some organizations that we bring clothing to are Andrew’s Street Family Centre, Wolseley Family Place, Villa Rosa, Men’s Resource Centre, Sage House and Sunshine House. You are welcome to pick up donation bags anytime for a charity you support that will give them directly to those in need.
Payment
- Accounts are tracked automatically by computer. Pay outs are available for items sold up to the last 7 days.
- Payments may be used as store credit or cash.
- Payments will be made by cash for amounts under $50 and cheque for over $50. We need 1 day notice to issue a cheque.
